Homage or ripoff?

The extended bit about the Quran salesmen in ep 4 is very funny--especially for those viewers who connect it to the Maysles Bros 1968 film SALESMAN. I may have missed any online recognition of the origin of this new sketch in the earlier film. That's odd, since the latter is a nearly act by act recreation. It is acceptable as an update if the source is recognised, but....
