The 25-year old teenagers are starting to look weird

In S1, you could just about accept that Steve, Nancy etc were teenagers, despite being in their 20s. But by S3, when the younger kids have started to become teenagers themselves, the older ones in comparison just look like those slightly-built adults that play teenagers, like Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.

Steve's Scoops-Ahoy five year old kid's sailor suit doesn't help either.

Watch "Sleepaway Camp" and see how old the "teenagers" were in that movie. Or any other 80s movie with teenagers in it. In Ferris Bueller's Day Off Alan Ruck was almost 30 years old.

Sleepaway camp is pretty extreme, because sone of them are actually kids. It makes the older people even more obvious.

Well that was common in 1980s movies, and this is emulating the style of 1980s movies. So I think it works just fine.
