Can we get Dacre Montgomery an emmy for this season?

Cause my god his acting was amazing this season, he completely stole the show anytime he showed up on screen. I found myself thinking when Joyce or someone was on screen "when the hell's Billy coming back on?".

He played the duel personalities so fucking well, when he was evil Billy he was scary and when he was scared and sympathetic Billy begging for forgiveness he was just as equally great, the way he would transition from stone cold evil to a scared kid was just amazing to watch.

I aint gonna lie when he was laying there dying with Max there crying i got really choked up, even more so than i did with Hopper's death.

Yeah, just like with Noah Schnapp last season we really got to see Dacre Montgomery's range as an actor this time out. The way he went from tough guy, to scared kid, to pure evil in one sequence was impressive. And that last emotional scene - him apologizing to Max, Max crying, even with all their problems they still cared about each other - it's an amazingly talented cast they've assembled for this show. Billy may be gone now but Dacre's career is just taking off.

Yeah i knew about Dacre before Stranger Things, i saw him in the Power Rangers movie, but man since he's been on Stranger Things i've become a huge fan of his, he's really got to show the world just how good he is on this show.

From the moment Billy showed up in season 2 when he pulled up to school in his Camaro i was a fan of the character, just a cool good looking dude who's there to take over and bang chicks. And it was an interesting dynamic with him and Steve where he was essentially kicking Steve to the side and becoming the new king of the school. And him being the human antagonist to the kids was also great and a nice change of a pace from them just dealing with a supernatural threat.

And i loved his arc with his father abusing him that just made me love the character even more, Dacre also killed it in that scene where he went from a cool confident tough guy to a scared sniffling kid crying in seconds.

And its cool to know after hearing Dacre in interviews talking about how that scene of his father abusing him was put in there because he told the Duffer Brothers he wanted Billy to have a reason for being the way he is and they wrote the scene with him and his dad in there while they was filming season 2. Then in season 3 he told them he wanted Billy's mom to be shown a they put those flashbacks in there with her, so its really cool The Duffer's listen to the actors and add in stuff they suggest.

The Duffer Brothers seem like a couple of kids who never completely grew up, rather than arrogant Hollywood director types who would say no, we do this our way, you're being paid to act not to think. Dacre did a lot of research to play his character. Reading up on bipolar disorder, watching and dissecting Jack Nicholson's performance in The Shining, I'm not surprised he had a few ideas to contribute and they were smart to listen to him.

Eleven's memory flashbacks were important to the story. We saw how Billy was a happy and sensitive kid when he was small, something his angry dad saw as weakness and bullied him mercilessly for. For some reason I got the impression from that scene in Billy's bedroom that the father was ex-military, maybe a former marine. We saw his mother leave without taking Billy - abandoning him to face the man's abuse all alone. He had a lot of reasons to feel betrayed.

Watching season 2 I figured he and Max hadn't known each other more than a year or two (maybe only a few months) but we saw that they met when they were a lot younger. Probably they were tight for a while, best friends, until Billy's increasingly hostile behavior drove them apart. Which is why he apologized to her and why she was so distraught. Things between them weren't always the way we saw last season.

He reminds a lot of Rob Lowe in St. Elmo's Fire mode...

That's what I thought of when I first saw him on the show. But I also thought he would eventually go Lost Boys and now im kinda glad that didn't happen.

Lol i've never really seen St Elmo's Fire but after looking it up you're totally right, looks like The Duffer's totally based his look off Rob Lowe from that movie, i just found a comparison picture funny enough when i searched it https://ksassets.timeincuk.net/wp/uploads/sites/55/2017/11/RobLoweBillyStrangerThings.jpg
