The kid who plays Luke is already 17 and the others are around 15 or 16 and went through puberty.

shareCaleb McLaughlin and Sadie Sink are both 17, although they weren't at the time season 3 was filmed. Caleb drove to and from the set in his own car this past season. Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo are right behind them at 16 - because of his condition Gaten will always look a lot younger than he is.
They shot the first season in late 2015, early 2016 so yeah, time's a passing. When the kids went to DC on their post release talk show tour and visited the White House it was Barack Obama who greeted them. I wonder if they'd accept an invitation now? Assuming the current occupant even knows who they are, somehow I just can't picture him watching this show.
