I saw an interview with the actress who plays eleven and she said she didn't know whether she'd be back or not!
She's the whole reason to watch the show!
They have kept that part under wraps, but i would be extremely surprised if she is not in season 2.

Look there are numerous occasions when David Harbour has got in trouble with the Duffers for giving out stuff he shouldn't. At NYCC he said Paul (from Vampire Diaries) was his buddy when Millie said it was her favorite show. Then he accidentally said that Paul was going to be in Atlanta when "we're" shooting. So him and Millie filming in Atlanta.
Later at the same event Millie said outright that she'd got the script for the first couple of episodes. Honestly these things have tighter security than fort Knox, unless you need to know you don't get a script and the only real reason to know is you're involved.
Personally I think it's getting a little farcical keeping the news hidden, for one thing it leaves Millie having to be constantly cautious with what she says and what real difference will it make knowing she's in the show.
So she'll be back but let's leave the speculation to that.

More than likely 11 will be there in the Upside Down world, only reuniting with Mike at the finale. Based on the final sequence,,opper will likely be in some kind of contact with her throughout.
