What was that about? Looked like he was leaving out the sort of junk food Eleven liked throughout the series... What are we to read into that
sharePretty much what you have read into it. When they were writing season one they weren't sure if they'd get a second series, it's been revealed recently that they did find out before going to air but even so they had to write most of the season as a single entity.
The plot rounded off but they had to leave the possibility that Eleven was still around, it's ambiguous, Hop looked like he was leaving it for Eleven, it was a month on so he may know something, it was also Christmas eve and he did kinda rat Eleven out so he has mega guilt - maybe that's his motivation. We can't be sure but ...
This bit does have a season two spoiler (might upset some if you want everything season two a surprise).
At the NY Comic Con David (Hop) and Millie (Eleven) were on a panel being interviewed. Millie said how much she loved Vampire Diaries, David's response was "Oh my god, you love Vampire Diaries? I didn't know that, you know I'm buddies with Paul right?"
Millie looked genuinely shocked "No!"
David "Yeah, he's going to be in Atlanta when we're shooting."
At that point David realises he said "We're shooting" and turns to the audience "Uh Oh!"
Millie covers her face for a second then theatrically say's "IF I'm in Atlanta!" with a great big wink.
