Winona Ryder stuttering...

I get that she is "frazzled," but just about every line is stuttered. She is a good actress, and I love her, but I couldn't help but notice...

Yeah, I loved her in "Age of Innocence" and "Little Women" and therefore headed into this with high expectations. She made a good impression in the first episode but her constant stuttering and frazzled look over episodes 2, 3 and 4 came across as an "act" she was slipping into for every scene of her performance. However, episode 5 onwards, her character picked up again and I thought she did really well.

I have never seen "Age of Innocence," but yes, she was good in "Little Women."
I think my favorite would have to be "Heathers."

I haven't seen "Heathers", so I might give it a try. I thought Winona was stunning in "Age of Innocence". She looked like she had walked out from one of those 19th century portraits of upper-class women. The most challenging thing about that role was that her character was very much a product of 19th century upper-class social etiquettes, which meant that it would have been improper for her to directly express her real feelings. This creates a very tight framework for any actress to work within but she manages to do exactly that and still create a character who gets what she wants by pulling the right strings. I'd definitely recommend it :-)

I highly recommend Heathers. It's an incredibly unique black comedy based on high school...with some unforgettable dialogue. Christian Slater is also excellent in it. I just checked, and it is available on youtube. Age of Innocence definitely sounds like something I would like. I like period pieces, and sounds like a challenging role for Ryder. Thank you for the recommendation!
