Just curious - compare this to the first season of Sherlock...

I, personally, thought that the first episode of Sherlock was the best premiere since Breaking Bad. It got a little weak after that, but was still full of promise.

Stranger Things was, at first, interesting. Then it started to catch it's stride in the remaining episodes.

Both are groundbreaking. One, a variation on a 100 year old series of books. The other just new ground all the way around.

And I thought Winona was just great in every way.

Oskars problem with Eli is not her ambiguous gender, but her ambiguous humanity.

How delusional are you? Sherlock is above this as we are above the amoeba.

reply

No.

ST has elements of the fantastical that Sherlock does not even approach. (But at times Sherlock does soar above all but some of the recent episodes of GoT.

(An amoeba is a living thing from the Earth, like we are...)

Absolutely no comparison, Sherlock is miles above and beyond this show. It was interesting but I felt like I was watching the Goonies half the time.

Just because its got kids in it it's similar to every other thing with kids in? Mission Impossible - That was/is similar to James Bond. That could be called a complete rip off too, not this show. If Stranger Things is like ET then everything with adults doing anything in it is similar or a rip off of everything else because they also have adults doing stuff in them.

You can not compare these two. Sherlock is a detective story based on 100 years old novels updated to the 21. century, and Stranger Things is a mystery show inspired by the 80s, si-fi/horror movies and Steven Spielberg. I love both shows for different reasons.
