What would you think about - Stranger Things (2016) Discussion

Sounds awful, but I haven't had my coffee yet, so that's all I got.

You see four seemingly normal kids (3 boys and a girl) spending the day at the mall, then at closing time they leave and the boys get on their bikes and ride away but someone has stolen the girl’s bike so she starts to walk home. A man (who is obviously a pedophile) drives up and offers her a ride home, she gets into his car and instead of driving her home he takes her to a secluded spot, they both get out of the car, he pulls a switchblade out and orders her to take her clothes off, the girl is terrified and tries to do as he says but fumbles with her fingers, so the man moves up to her, still holding the knife, and starts to open her belt, the girl then vamps out and bites the man in the neck. With his last ounce of strength he stabs her in the shoulder then dies.
The girl refastens her belt and pulls the knife out, sticks her finger through the hole and complains that she just bought the jacket, she drags the man’s corpse to the trunk of his car and opens it, inside is her bike, she kicks the man in the stomach a few times and cusses, she then with ease put’s the man’s corpse in the trunk and closes it, pulls some wet wipes out of her pocket and cleans her mouth.

(cue opening credits)

I've seen that movie. It was called Let The Right One In. They did an American remake a year or two later, basically the same story but not quite as good. Now apparently they're going to make a series out of it. So been there, done that. Be encouraged that you came up with a plot idea similar to a successful franchise - all you have to do now is think of something no one else has thought of yet, and maybe Netflix will let you produce it.

Well it wouldn't a vampires vs werewolves thing, it's just the town would be full of monsters. I was thinking of adding an adopted sister who was a mermaid but had legs on dry land.

I also had an idea for a show where a naval officer was stranded on a deserted island and was about to commit suicide when a beautiful naked woman washed up the beach tangled in a tuna net, he frees her and nurses her back to health and they fall in love, one night they make love on the beach but the next morning the man wakes up alone and the woman is nowhere to be found. A ship appears and takes the man back home to his wife and kids. Six years later he's contacted by the FBI about a dead naked woman washing up on a beach with a naked six year old girl trying to get her mother to wake up and the girl is wearing his dogtags. He's taken to the girl and is given a note written on papyrus that apologizes for leaving him and says this is Pearl your daughter please take care of her. He takes her home causing a huge argument between him and his wife. He gives the girl a bath, when he puts her in the water her legs transform into a tail. (She's a mermaid) Either his wife commits suicide or divorces him, then he meets his 2nd wife who also has a mermaid for a daughter. When Pearl is older she falls in love with the new boy in school who turns out to be a merman and he gets her pregnant then dies. His younger son and stepdaughter start sleeping together.
