Inspirations for S.T.

I read a few articles listing some films, etc., that are supposed to have inspired the Duffers in making Stranger Things.

However, two other 80's movies I had not seen mentioned but I thought about while watching this were Dreamscape (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087175/) and The Hidden (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093185/).

Not sure if they left any impression on the producers but these movies seem to have some things in common with S.T.
