Why is Boston so special?

So should they have used a slogan like Boston meh...it's just like anywhere else?

The term "Boston Strong" was the mutually accepted catchphrase/response that resulted from a number of groups who spontaneously sought to do something to raise funds for victims and other worthy recipients of the Boston Marathon/Patriots Day bombing. It wasn't a carefully conceived campaign based on long-term analysis or marketing but a grassroots movement that eventually became very popular with people who bought the memorabilia or donated money to certain funds.

Because we Bostonians are the best. Duh! You live in a free country because we started the war, and we always stick together. XD

It's a rallying cry for a region that experienced a horrible event. The origin may have come a year earlier in 2012 with "Jersey Strong", which was a unified togetherness shown by the communities of Ocean and Monmouth counties that were hit so hard by Hurricane Sandy.

Either way, not sure why anyone would take offense or knock the coming together of the people of New Jersey or Boston for wanting to stay strong and unite
