Well they test drove it, I get the impression that was for the whole car - which would be a fair price except they only needed the engine and tranny? But like a lot of things on this show, they love to gloss over the details so who knows really. Obviously they didn't need any of the other working parts.

A better question might be why did he tear apart a running V-8 Fox mustang to use as a donor car? People like to fix these up and hang onto them, now nobody will ever have a matching numbers on that car... picky, picky I know and there are plenty of people who probably want to put a crate motor and any other trans in the Mustang, but still stupid.

Also annoying - they keep billing the Eagle as an "80's car" on the show (without ever really saying the year) but to me the Eagle was always a 70's car which just happened to be produced for a couple of years into the 80s.

Every episode of this show I watch, I feel a little dumber. It's like Rut's idiocy is rubbing off on me, even through the TV. sigh

Rut said he would pull the drivetrain and give him back the car to crush for a reduced price.
I agree with you,a four eyed fox in that shape deserves better, but then again, the whole show is fake, and the fact that they never showed the engine in the car coupled with the fact that they claim to have beat that Porsche makes me think that they swapped in somthing else.

I'm a Ford guy and love the old Fox Mustangs, and it hurt that he allegedly took apart a running, driving V8 Fox. I would have much rather watched a show where they restore that Mustang than the AMC Eagle for which it was sacrificed.

I would have rather they restored the Eagle right, instead of just throwing a V-8 into it, and making it a two wheel drive car. 😞
