As usual for these types of films, the comments are all biased.

(Minor Spoilers)

Let me tell you from an unbiased point of view that this movie was SH!T. Bad acting, bad filming, bad special effects, & plotholes. The faces the guy makes when he uses his telekinesis is probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Not just funny for the actual faces but also because he couldn't act worth a damn.

This film actually semi promoted itself as a scanners homage (ha they wish, ripoff maybe.) and one of the reviews said: "An impressive on-point homage to the early films of Brian De Palma and David Cronenberg.". Bull...sh!t. The only way it reminded me of that is the color scheme of blue and red which actually worked for me but I am biased on that one because I've been a fan of that color scheme since watching "Creepshow" as a kid. The special effects were obviously influenced by Cronenberg but almost all of it was done so badly that it was more of a slap in the face than an homage.

A major plothole for me was the fact that although the characters had this amazing talent, they only use it 50% of the time. There was one scene where the characters (all three had this power mind you) and one guy gets taken out and the other two run and run with ppl in close pursuit. Why didn't they both just use the powers and deal with them? Sort of like superman taking his time to walk through a forest instead of just flying away. It made no sense. There was also another scene which was painfully illogical. Two of the characters were facing the main villian who (keep in mind) is trying to kill them. One character is holding a gun to him and decides to "kill him" and shoot at him. So what does the other character do? Uses his power to deflect the bullet so that it only hit the villian in the arm. They could have ended the whole thing right then but nope. So then they go on the run with people trying to kill them hot on thier trails.

Now to get to the positives and as far as I can tell there is only one: the gore factor. Overall this movie had little of it but what it did have was pretty extreme and done kind of well. No competition to a big budget movie or even some other low ones, (budget doesn't always equal quality but in this case it did), but it held it's own for this type of movie.

Overall I gave it a 3 but had it not been for some of the special effects I would have given it a 2. Hardly worth all these comments made by shills singing it's praises but hey don't take my word for it, go ahead and waste your money and time on this instead of watching something good like the original scannners.

you're an idiot or maybe it's YOU who's the shill. maybe you know the director of the film and have a grudge against him for something. see how paranoid that sounds? see how paranoid YOU sound? it's a f^*ucking movie. get over it. you didn't like it? that fine. some people did like it. anyone who uses the "anyone who liked this_____(movie/show/etc) is a shill" claim is a ridiculous, paranoid person. sometimes people just like different things. move on.

reply

Even if all that is true, this movie sucked.

Purely an OPINION. From ONE person, who thinks that their opinion is the only one that matters. Typical self entitled behavior, just like the 'Doctor'.

So ... why are the comments all biased?

You wrote that in you subject line and then never explained why you thought that.

reply

It seems to me that they liked the movie. Don't you think that's enough reason?

I liked the film. It's not perfect. You can see 'scanners' (which is a better film) all over it, but that won't stop me from liking it.
I think this should be at least enjoyable for many 80s horror fans.
