Keystone cops

What a farce in episode 1. Ridiculous behaviour by the israeli undercover team; alls well when for no reason doran attacks one of the arabs ensuing complete madness culminating with the death of the groom. It looks a good series but a lousy start

I completely agree. I just saw the first episode and it looked promising. But that was a dumbass move by Doron.

Also, the gunfire effects and gun shot noises were horrendous. It was so obviously fake that it took me out of the show. A shame, because they seem to have put som effort into handling the weapons correctly.

While the gunshots and gun fire effects may have been not done as well as expected, Doron sensed that they had been made or at least suspected. The wife of the target got a call from the baker who apologized that his men never got there. Of course the Israeli were there instead. But she spoke to some senior Palestinian who took the two Israelis off to a side room to question them.

The other Israelis (offsite) were able to jam the cell phones. so the Palestinians asking the questions weren't able to make contact with the baker. It seemed that they were about to get clear, and then Doron went off.

I'd bet that the writer would say, if asked, that Doron was an experienced guy, and he had a 'read' on the Palestinians.

I agree with the OP who said it was a bad move by Doron.

But they had to get the Israeli's out of there and on to the street because they target wasn't there any way.

"Doron was an experienced guy, and he had a 'read' on the Palestinians."

Exactly. Another option is, he wasn't sure about them. They could have let them go, only to shoot them in the back of their heads the next second, just like they did later in the series.
The situation was very intense for them, and they didn't have much time to think. Doron probably made a decision in a split second because he thought it's best not to take chances.

Doron's behavior bothered me too, but I like your explanation, jmm. But then once in the van, why did he jump out to go chase who he believed was the no. 2 terrorist? That jeopardized the entire team.

I think as later episodes show, Doron is a total hothead who overreacts in tense situations, usually by killing people.
