I am a gay guy in SF. I wanted to like this for obvious reasons. I convinced myself I liked the series, so I was keen to see the movie. In reality though, It's one more depiction of gay people as *beep* up, filled with angst and self defeating. If I want to see that, I'll walk outside. Can't someone make a movie about gay men that aren't imploding?

shareIt is not just gay people who are beeped up, it's everyone! I don't want to see a movie or thing else where people are not beeped up!
shareIt is in no way a remake of "The Boys...". That was written almost 50 years ago and that is how it was back then for many Gay men.
As for this movie, remove the Gay theme. Place male and female heterosexuals in the same parts, tweaking the teleplay ever so slightly and it is now hetero relationships in all their " *beep* up" glory.
It is just life, Gay life, Straight life, males, females...everyone is "imploding" in one way or another...
I think life would be fairly boring if it were not that way.

Actually, a certain gay network has many (supposedly) funny series that don't remind the viewers of "real" life.
