gave the movie its only real shot in the arm, and the same can be said for the show at large. Other than that, everything here felt pretty predictable and by-the-numbers.
There's just something about the interplay between two actors, and by extension, Patrick and Kevin, which feels genuinely alive.
Jesus christ that scene was so real, I could literally feel how desperate Kevin was. "Because I love you" and then everyone in the couch started crying. The last kiss was like a punch too, so intense and emotional.
I have to agree. I think it's because I just don't buy Jonathon Groff as being desirable enough to have had those 2 men going after him. And his character is obnoxious.
Patrick ending up with Richie was such a lame cop-out. Nevermind the fact that the latter is an inherently uninteresting character (imo), but the entire premise of Patrick leaving SF and coming back for a wedding was clearly a contrivance for him and Richie to reconnect. The fact that they reduced Brady to a shrill, one-dimensional annoyance that not a single viewer would empathize with only further proves this point.
A lame cop-out? The series was always, from episode 101, about Patrick eventually finding something real with Richie. If you look back, it's built up to and hinted at in so many ways, even when Patrick is with Kevin. If that's the goal from the get go, how can it be a cop-out?
And if you think Richie is uninteresting, well, to each their own. I loved him more and more, the more we got to know him, and thought he was the most interesting, unusual character on the show. Episode 205 made me wish we'd get to see more of his background and his reality that isn't the typical environment most out gay men come from. To me, Richie was strong, brave and sensitive in ways that defied expectations (including my own, because I have to admit, I expected certain things based on his first appearance on the show and he subverted most if not all of them) and yet he still had his share of flaws, sh!t that he needed to deal with, which rang very true to me.
Are you surprised gays think Richie is uninteresting? Chances are, these are the same people who think if life is not one meth/dance party after another, it's not worth living.

I don't think you're talking about gays at large here, I think you're referring to a very specific subset. But I also think some of the posters here that said things along this line are not necessarily either gay or male, so let's not over-generalize...
just finished the movie and that scene was really the best for me too, i was like waiting for Kevin to tell Pat that him and Jon are not really dating.i just love them together..
