Jake has this talent of picking the best films to work on

I don't agree. I'd say this is his first good film since nightcrawler. Up until nightcrawler he had a hell of a hot streak though. Enemy, prisoners, and nightcrawler marked 3 consecutive career-best performances imo.

He does have a tendency to knock it out of the park and into the next state, even though the film isn't perfect though. He was incredible in both southpaw and demolition, even though those films left a lot to be desired. If he continues at this rate he'll surpass Day-Lewis before he's 50 imo.

Good point. I never considered him to be one of my favorite actors, but I've enjoyed plenty of his movies, especially over the last 5-7 years.
