Never thought hollywood would make movies with scary rape scenes...,

Glad they did, it was scary and intense and graphic.

When was the last time anyone saw a recently made movie with a rape scene like this one in this movie.

reply

Is this a troll? It was 5 seconds of very blurred 'rape'.

reply

Hollow Man, which was much more traumatic to be honest. Hollywood must agree because when I caught it recently on Starz, they edited it down to a second and a half of the bad guy grabbing the girl, cutting out completely the rape and horrible sobbing aftermath.

reply

Starz does not edit their films. Unless you are talking about Bravo (which is owned by Starz), which will edit a movie.

reply

Nope, it was Starz and it was most certainly edited.
And I didn't say Starz did the editing, just that it was edited and I watched it on Starz.

reply

It wasn't edited. Only in the deleted scene do you see some of the rape and her crying on the bed afterwards.

reply

I saw the deleted scene where we see the rape and the aftermath of it, very sad to see this woman is raped and no one in the film knows about it except Hollow man and the woman.

reply

I agree that it was scary and intense, yet at the same time it never went "too far".

They did a great balancing job with that.

Zardoz (1974) has spoken!

Well I guess first we'd have to define "recent." But they have a very short rape scene based on what the father saw in his nightmares.

If you watch nearly any season of American Horror Story, you're going to see a brutal rape, far more graphic than what was in his movie. But even if we stick with just movies, I'm assuming you haven't seen The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Well, I obviously disagree. I generally have a very hard time with rape scenes. While I was uncomfortable with this one, I can name several that make me far more uncomfortable due to the length and brutality.

reply

I saw the girl with the dragon tattoo both the original and the remake and yes that was a graphic rape scene though I never was into American Horror story, what rape scene was there?

reply

Maybe they felt it would be tolerable for a wide audience since it's pretty far from reality i.e. it's a dream in a piece of fiction in a piece of fiction

reply

I wonder if anyone here ever watch I spit on your grave(2010)?

reply

The original was better, the remake didn't care for it.

reply

There's tons of movies with rape scenes. It's kinda cheap and emotionally manipulative.

Ever see A Clockwork Orange or Frenzy?
