Simply because this kind of film are sooooo predictable and silly than the budget almost makes zero difference as the moment the destruction takes a break you are just left with a dumb and totally incredible storyline, where the big heroes and their family/friends/dogs survive no matter what while everybody else dies....What a bore! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............

Actually the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson version is not that much better than this. That one was pretty lame.

Yeah, but the Rock one did have gratuious shots of Alexandrio Daddario's funbags. So, there is that.

San Andreas wasn't great but this is clear B-movie garbage. Did you see the part where they were shortcutting through the zoo? That shot of the giraffe that was clearly stock footage from the Serengeti :-P That fake ass hippo? The fact that despite the fact that they were supposedly rushing, they didn't look like they were going over 40mph?
