I like the Jim Gaffigan show but it's nothing we haven't seen before. It's like a cross between Everybody loves Raymond & Louie. Just ok. On the other hand Impastor is fresh, edgey and funny as hell. I can see why people might be turned off by it because of the way the show depicts religion. I Love the show and hope it gets renewed asap.

Even though the premise of Impastor has been done a zillion times before (mistaken identity), the writers manage to show it in a different light and it's hilarious.

I haven't watched The Jim Gaffigan Show yet, I didn't find the promos that appealing, but so far I'm enjoying Impastor. I'm Christian and I really don't think the show is all that offensive. Honestly there are way worse things they could be doing.
shareI love Jim Gaffigan but TV Land took something away by showing 3 or 4 of his standup shows in repeat marathon style. It was like overkill and for some they've likely had enough of him before the show really gets started.

It does have a fresh feel to it. The dynamics between the varied characters and their personas is evolving well as the show progresses. It deftly incorporates the religious aspects of the show with some less pious sides of life manifested by Buddy... Yeah, I'm liking it.
Impastor is way better than Jim Gaffigan Show. Gaffigan is just a basic, generic sitcom. Impastor is clearly superior. I would have been very upset with TVLand if they renewed Gaffigan and not Impastor. Impastor is the first TVLand sitcom I've liked. Younger is ehh okay but I didn't see every episode and don't really care to.

But I have a feeling it will get hard for the writers to keep the show going, like are they just gonna have him running from cops forever.. On the other hand Jim Gaffigan show is him dealing with his celebrity life and family life and they can write that forever and just come up with random funny episodes..
The one thing right now that Jim Gaffigan has over Impastor is Macaulay Culkin haha
Oh yea also he got Steve Buscemi to do one episode,, having both those actor's to do cameos is pretty Boss!!
