as a Christian I love this show

The story is witty and I can still get the sense of love among those lovely characters.

I only recently stumbled across this brilliant series, and I agree with you. I don't see how it supposedly mocks Christians or Christianity at all.

Admittedly, I'm only five episodes into the first season, but so far, the only character who makes Christians look bad is Aiden Schmidt, the hypocritically self-righteous "president of the church." (I thought that was only a Mormon title.) But seeing as how this show seems to be a story about redemption, hopefully he'll eventually show some redeeming qualities as I get further into it.

The other characters like Dora and even Alexa -- what she did for Dora at the fashion show was so heartwarming -- actually make me want to start going to church and reconnecting with people like them more.

i agree OP. are there a few times it pokes fun at aspects of churches? sure, but it comes to me as all in good fun and not mockery. it also has characters who identify as christians that are more real than a lot of shows. they come across as mostly good people, who occasionally make bad decisions, then try to better themselves. they are open-minded and serving their church in the best ways they know how. i genuinely enjoy the way the characters are written and developing.
