Does that mean the series was renewed or was that just the way it was filmed?

Do you have proof of this? Please do not state things as fact when we are still not sure at the moment.

What is wrong with saying "I think it will be the series finale, unfortunately"??

I took it to mean that the final decision hasn't yet been made by the network.

Sometimes fires don't go out when you're done playin' with them.

which seems fairly current and at this time (7/6 4pm MDT) still says no decision has been made although some publications seem to be saying it is cancelled.

If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.

What I have heard is that Fox is not likely to renew, but there is some talk the show could be picked up by another network such as BBC America.
