an underrated gem. Way better than 'lost in translation'

I loved it. This is a small gem, and it will be a classic in the future. The whole Chris Rock thing, including the sound of him running away was hysterical! Maya Rudolph holding her laugh? Schwartzman saying "please go away"? And I love the fact that Miley Cyrus, the so-hated-singer (I don't like her either,) could pull such a nice couple of songs.
Billy Murray gave us an awesome impression of himself, and Paul Schaeffer looked like a Luis Bunuel's character, showing up with his piano everywhere.

I actually think LIT is a lot better, but hey, the Christmas special has greatness in it for sure. I love it for those moments that really work, although it's not perfect.

Liked it too.. Dint like the Santa needs some loving song.. Other than that it was pretty good.. Especially the bar scenes were top notch. Wished there was Sofia Coppola in the singing too..

Lost in Translation was "better" but its not really fair to compare the two since Lost was a dramatic piece while this was dark comedy take.

I can certainly understand that this will fly over many's heads. Was this launched as a tv speciel or tv movie ? In any event I loved it. I was a mix of homage/parody of old times and a bit of dark focus/comedy on the sad sides of Christmas times, instead of the whole lollipop thing or grand star parade most people suck up :D
