Won't stop Hollywood from trying again.

It's an utter failure.

What I'd like to know is if people just weren't interested in THIS Robin Hood or if they're tired of Robin Hood in general.

reply

That's a good point. Maybe Robin Hood needs to go away for an exceptionally long time.

I did enjoy Robin Hood 2010, although I know the majority didn't, and I would have preferred a follow-up to that story rather than another new Robin Hood origin story.

I thought Ridley Scott's film was okay. Not particularly good, but not exactly bad either. It was watchable.

Personally, I don't think we've gotten a good Robin Hood adaptation--movie or television--since Prince of Thieves in '91. I recently tried to watch the BBC series from a little while back and just couldn't get into it.

The story's a good one, but no one seems to know how to tell it.

Prince of Thieves is definitely my favorite although Men in Tights is a close 2nd.

The whole movie just looked terrible from the trailer. Really not surprised. I just don't get how anyone thought this would work, but who knows, maybe it's a hidden gem! If it comes to Netflix, I'll give it a whirl.

12 days now, only $48m global. Has the studio learned anything?
