Am I the only one that actually liked this?

I feel I am missing something. Maybe people were expecting a masterpiece. I tbf expected a pretty crap movie and it really wasn't. Seems to be getting loads of hate yet I enjoyed it for what it was.

It's far from perfect and felt very PG (no blood despite loads of kills). The rather poor attempt of a (5 minutes tops) rushed love story. At the end of the day I pay to watch a movie to entertain and it was entertaining.

For what it was, it was very entertaining. I would watch it again.
If you ignore everything you know about the Robin Hood fable and the films that have gone before....and the time it was set and the place....literally this is just it’s own film, own story, own logic and everything.
It’s got action, rivalry, pain, drama, love, horse riding, bit of violence, fire, explosions, castles....etc...and a bit of a bizarre mix of medieval England, Italy and China thrown into the mix with some SS Nazi stuff and Iraqi war/PTSD....it’s totally bizarre!!

I'm with you. Sure, the movie had it's problems, but overall is was a totally decent film, which was worth the movie ticket. I don't get all the hate

reply

Because it is not about, you know, Robin Hood.

reply

Why? Who is it about? Mick Jagger?

reply

Its o.k.

I only watched it one time awhile ago, but it was okay from what I can remember. Pretty forgettable though, I can see why it bombed. If it wasn't for Taron Egerton, I probably wouldn't have even watched it...

I think this slipped through the cinema without me being aware it was out there - so I'm guessing it was prejudged D.O.A. and there was little investment in publicity.
