Miss Havisham's wedding - a happy ending!

There's been much gloom in "Dickensian", but the previews of tomorrow's final episode, with Miss Havisham about to get married, warmed my heart.

Yes, Compeyson's been shown to be a bit of a cad, but surely he's been redeemed by the love of a good woman? I confidently predict their union will be a long and happy one, with many children cheerfully playing in a joyous Satis House.

Has he murdered his real wife? She hasn't been shown since she objected to him having sex with Miss Havisham. If she's alive, I hope she loudly objects in the church.

are you being cruel here? :P

Great Expectations is being shown on the Drama channel at midday today - that should warm the cockles of your heart. Warning it will contain spoilers!!!

Considering the Bumbles' storyline changed somewhat maybe Miss Havisham will come to her senses and kick Compeyson to the curb. Maybe she'll write a Dear John to him on their wedding day! She'll marry Matthew and live happily ever after. And Compeyson will wander his small lodgings for years to come in his dishevelled wedding duds, eventually adopting Pip and freezing Pip's heart against all women. Until Estella, farm maid turned lady, saves him from the sad fate.

No such luck. :( But at least his heart was (somewhat) broken as well.

More than a cad, lol, more like a sociopath.

I don't think a woman's love can change a man (or vice versa). Bill and Nancy prove that much.

Possible spoiler for any season 2:

Could the body of the man found dead in the room which was locked from the inside be that of Compeyson, killed by Arthur Havisham before he climbed onto the rooftop of his house, via the chimney?

Oo. You are naughty stebs.

Young Tuppence rose to the occasion I think.

Snicker snicker!

In all seriousness, yes, Middleton was excellent as the young Miss Havisham, and her reaction upon learning of the cruel deception that had been played upon her was very well done.

However - and this isn't me being facetious, although I possibly am being a bit unattentive - when did Compeyson begin to develop genuine feelings towards Amelia? I don't seem to recall this being indicated in any of the episodes before the finale?

Probably when most men develop "genuine" feelings towards a woman...when his peepee met her vajayjay.
