To help answer your question: "why was this made?"

Hello, have you just found this page or maybe just saw this movie and thought, "how is it possible that pure junk could be made on purpose?"

Indeed, if you thought that this was completely bogus junk that looks to capitalize on the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road, then you're 100% correct!

The Asylum is a well known sub B-Movie production company. They exist for the sole purpose of looking at the next big blockbuster or popular franchise coming out and make a complete rip off movie.

Now this might sound cheap and stupid at first (and it kind of is) but the truth is they make these movies on such a low budget and crank them out so fast that the profits on "curiosity" renting alone more than justifies their investment.

Every Asylum movie is profitable, so from their point of view, it's definitely worth it to turn out this kind of garbage.

So, these movies exist, because along the way, someone such as you or I will be morbidly curious to see just how bad of a train wreck one of these movies are. We'll shell out our $3 for a rental and watch the stupid thing, gagging the whole time over the shear stupidity of it. Meanwhile The Asylum folks will all be chuckling as they pour another glass of brandy at a fine dinner party somewhere. Ha!

Not so stupid afterall, eh?

Agree with everything you wrote, but I naively keep hoping they'll elevate their game if only just a little, yet they never do. Even Uwe Boll, who answers to everything you described, managed to make a couple of surprisingly good movies (Rampage, for example, is well worth the watch). Is it THAT much harder and more expensive to at least write them a little better?

He who fears the Rodent, did something worth bitching about.

My theory is that an alien race runs The Asylum and has a long term silent way to conquer us by having unsuspecting humans watch one of these so called films. Almost immediately watching this film I felt my energy level drop and 3/4 of the way in my intelligence started to ooze away. I think my computer is trying to protect me by not allowing me to stream anymore of it...
