Not even close to as great as the older specials

I really didn't find this special to be very funny at all .
It had very few moments of good laughs but mainly very boring . It picked up a little towards the end but the delivery of the good jokes throughout are not even a comparison to any of his old ones. It sucks , because I
found all of his old material hilarious. Its like he still does the same delivery on the way he says the jokes its just rhe material is very dull. The hyper yelling delivery was ok in the old specials because the jokes were actually funny and works well with that style but seems like hes trying to hard to be wacky now . Like a Indian Jim Carrey by not as funny.

I do hope he can make another one in the future and get back to his original roots . Because he is a good stand up comedian just I woulda been very disappointed if I actaully had to pay to be at this special live..

Glad it's not just me. I came here to see if anybody else was disappointed. I'm hoping that maybe he was particularly busy with finishing Parks and Rec and didn't have as much time to put in the effort. This is also the first special where he's been in a relationship, as far as I know, so hopefully relationship happiness doesn't make him less funny. That would be a shame. Comedians deserve happiness too.

Just finished watching it and you both said everything I came here to say. I remember laughing hard at his past stand up performances, but I just breathed heavy through my nose a couple times during this. He made good points and a lot of what he said is relatable to me and most people in this day and age, but he didn't seem to have any joke to go along with the rants and saying things louder or in funny voices didn't work with this material. Damnit. I'm still a fan, but not going in expecting much from his next project fosho.

It started off good; immigration, culture clash stuff. If it wasn't funny, it certainly had me thinking at the least. But then it started to drift, and he was losing the crowd as well, when he started talking about coupling. I'm not sure whether he was sticking too close to his material, not reading the crowd or his delivery wasn't good. But I personally felt he was trying too hard and the jokes were not hitting home.

In future, I would suggest he doesn't over play and tries to feel the audience and adapt accordingly.

I pretty much agree with everyone in this thread.
I found myself in agreement with his opinions, like the part about the female perspective and so on, but I didn't laugh more than maybe once.
I also watched this after John Mulaneys The Comeback Kid, which I found very funny, so that probably didn't help as well.

I liked it. I laughed really hard only a couple times but was entertained the whole time. I like his spin on the world
