Cliffhanger Ending?

Saw the finale the other night, and it just doesn't quite seem to end. I can understand the conclusion of Leopaldo/Roman/Hanbal without any further resolution, any of which could be reasonable and a full ending.

But I just couldn't quite figure out the Maca/Zulema conclusion. Maybe I missed an episode, but it "ended" in the tunnel with Maca leading the way before Zulema. That was the end?

Did Maca block the tunnel and perhaps sacrifice herself to prevent Zulema from escaping? Did Zulema force her way through and take Maca with them?

Was the series cancelled without a real ending? Left me semi-satisfied, as I loved the series, but ....

That's just the end of season 1. Season 2 is the end of the series and address all of that and ends surprisingly well for an unexpected cancellation.

Aaaah, I thought that was the end of the whole thing. There was some confusion over the number of episodes, and I'd watched a download from Walter's show on Channel 4 (I think) so now I only hope I can get the remainder with English subtitles.

I have sixteen one hour episodes, which strangely seems as if it's all of season one plus half of season two. There should be a total of 26 episodes, thirteen in each season? Sometimes episodes are combined when subtitled and broadcast on different networks, so numbers occasionally disagree.

Thanks for your help. I did think it was a bit of a strange ending. So now I've got to try to find a Season 2. Sure hope I can find the last 13 or ten episodes.

You're welcome. For the original unedited series in Spanish they aired 11 episodes for the first season that were each roughly 70-80 minutes long (without commercials).

When they brought the show to the UK, Walter's edition, they actually cut out a decent amount of scenes from the original or edited the order of the scenes so that they happened later then they originally did. A nice amount were Maca+Rizos scenes, Maca's father+brother, and getting to know some of the other prisoners. So Walter's edition aired 16 episodes with an estimated 48-120 minutes worth of original content from season one cut out.

Season 2 starts immediately where season 1 ended with the tunnel. Season 2 is 13 70-80 minute long episodes. Season 2 was currently airing in Spain when Walter's edition began streaming season 1 on Channel 4's website so they didn't have any of season 2's content. Then the series was unexpectedly cancelled in June and the season 2 finale became the series finale.

So far there aren't any parts of season 2 translated into English but the Spanish srt (subs) files for season 2 have recently become available and can be personally translated by anyone wishing to do so. So someone might upload it within the next few months. It's doubtful that season 2 will get an official translation though.

Wow, you really are knowledgeable about this. And so much appreciated by me. Thank you so much.

I haven't even been able to find the video of season 2, let alone the srt files. Depending on the language, Google translate can sometimes be adequate. If nothing else, it provides the general sense of what's happening, just reading the script.

If Walter had season one perhaps there's a chance there'll be a followup of season two? If nothing else, I'll keep watch for at least the videos of season 2 and any sub files for it.

Again, thank you for your knowledgeable contribution.

Later: I've managed to find and download the thirteen files for the episodes of season 2, but cannot find any subtitles at all, no srt files in any language. One site, SubScene I think, suggested they had them, but the files aren't on their site anymore. If you've got a location for those subs in Spanish, I can get them and use Google translate or an application like https://sourceforge.net/projects/srt-tran/ (there are others if you search for them).

Thanks. I got into the series a month before they started airing season 2 live in Spain. I watched season 1 in Spanish online but some of the scenes were hard to keep up with because it didn't have any subs, Spanish or English. So I binge watched Walter's version to make sure I knew what was going on so that I could start watching season 2 and noticed that it was missing content.

Some other people pointed it out too on another forum I'd skimmed. Some people were thinking since the episodes were chopped up and turned into 16 episodes instead of 11 that it was just editing but unfortunately the scenes are missing entirely. The show still works with the cut scenes but it's better with them.

Antenna 3, the original broadcasting network, was uploading episodes of season 2 on their website the day after it aired live so I watched it on there with the Hola extension and turned on the Spanish subs. My remembrance of Spanish is just passable enough for me to understand it with the subs on and what I didn't I used Google, lol. Unfortunately they've made the entire series paid content instead of just season 1, so no one can watch it there for free anymore. Some people uploaded it on youtube, vimeo and torrents.

Hmm, the srts seemed to have been taken down for some reason but are said to be re-uploaded soon. 2x01 is still available through Antenna 3 http://www.atresplayer.com/subtitles/80000608/80000001/170000132/170001775/760439B8-326D-4F0F-B9E2-69AA770DF672.srt. I ran that srt through an srt translator a few weeks ago but didn't like it. It was a little too literal for me and some things don't translate that well. Some of those programs actually use Google Translate as a base anyway unless you pay for it. Personally, I'd rather just watch it with the subs because it has the added benefit of keeping me from completely forgetting Spanish since I don't normally use it.

Thanks for the link to those subs. Unfortunately, I do have to go through some translation of them as I have no Spanish at all. I know Google can make quite a literal mess of languages - you ought to see the kind of gibberish it makes of Thai - but when it's the only game in town, ....

I'll look forward to finding the rest sometime.

Now, where did I get the videos of Season 2? I know I searched about the usual sources and came up empty, so I think I just Googled "Vis a Vis Season 2 torrents" and followed loads of links. Seems if I recall, some of the better choices came through usenet, although I can't swear by it, and I've lost all the links now.

Hey bud, I'm in the same situation as you - loved the first season, managed to download Season 2 but I can't find any subtitles for it. So frustrating! Sites likes addic7ed.com and podnapisi have subtitles in other languages for English language shows, but nothing for this great show. I'll keep looking, and if you find anything please drop us a line here.

Btw Walter Presents confirmed on his Twitter that Season 2 will be on 4od "in 2017".

Can you give me a clue as to where season 2 videos can be found? Thanks
