Whats with the Hip Hop music?

I was turned off from this show right from the start. Why are they playing Kanye West gor a slave show right off the bat. I turned it off.. Will give it another chance later

Yes,my sentiment as well, although I knew producer John Legend was going to find a way to remind everyone that celebrity "musicians" were involved. A rapper from The Roots group is doing the music if I am not mistaken.

I'm put off by the music too, except for the Kanye song, I like how its intensity matches the scenes.

It's the music they chose to use for the show. Duh. Better question is what's with your stupid question that you should have puzzled out the answer to?

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.

I don't care for the music either. Love the show. Well written (for the most part), well acted. Very exciting. Keeps you on the edge. Can't wait for next season. Hope they use more appropriate music. Music may be modern, we have great sounds today -- but more appropriate for the theme. I realize they have the great Legend handling the music. This is just my opinion, I'm only a fan.

I felt the same way about Peaky Blinders, but I gave it a chance and loved it! I'm going to give this a chance, as well, despite the music.
