Who Are These People?

Aside from Mrs. Sting, I have never heard of any of these actors.

reply

lizzie brochere in my opinion was one of the highlights of The Strain but yea, crickets.

reply

Lizzie was also good in 2nd season of AHS Asylum.

If this show has a plot as messed up as Inception, it'll be great.

reply

There is such a thing as other actors who's names don't end with Pitt, Pacino, Garner, Damon, Hathaway and so on.

reply

There are many, many outstanding actors whose names are not Pitt, Pacino, etc, whom I recognize. I like to know who at least one of the leads is. I just watched the pilot, and I will probably continue to watch, but it would have been nice to have at least one actor I recognized (Trudie Styler was not in this episode). The other new USA series, Eyewitness, has Julianne Nicholson, Gil Bellows, and Warren Christie, all of whom I'm familiar with from shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Alphas, Motive, Ally McBeal, etc.

reply

Jesus Christ, who cares if they are all unknown?? Does that make a series automatically not worth watching or something?

Besides, unknown today could very well be famous tomorrow.

reply

Well, when Lost started. Who ever heard of any of them? Aside from Lock being on the original Nikita show and Daniel Roebuck doing Matlock and a couple little things as a child.
They were all unknown, especially the leads.

reply

This is an all-around ridiculous thread.

As for Lost, now that I think of it, they are still all pretty unknown. Josh Holloway is the only one who keeps getting work, and, well, Evangeline Lilly is now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that's pretty much it.

reply

Matthew Fox was Barry Scheck in The OJ Simpson Series. He got so fat it took me three episodes to figure out who he was.

Evangeline Lilly really surprises me. She really should be everywhere. She's beautiful. I only remember seeing her in a trailer as a hobbit or something in a Lord of the Rings type film.

reply

Michael Emerson starred in Person of Interest for five years. Terry O'Quinn has been a frequent guest star on a number of shows and was recurring on Hawaii Five-0. Dominick Monaghan was on Fast Forward and now has his own show on Animal Planet. Ian Somerhalder stars on Vampire Diaries. Daniel Dae Kim stars on Hawaii Five-0. Michelle Rodriguez stars in the Fast and Furious movies. Harold Perrineau is starring in season 3 of Full Circle. Evangeline Lilly starred in two of the Hobbit movies. Elizabeth Mitchell has done a lot of things including Fast Forward.

Dominick was famous before Lost because of the Lord of the Rings movie. Matthew Fox had done Party of Five. Terry O'Quinn starred in a movie called The Stepfather. I remembered Daniel Dae Kim from Crusade. I could go on but my fingers are tired.

reply

Michelle Rodriguez was definitely a recognizable face on Lost, though. As was Dominick.

We were talking about the leads - they were all unknowns.

Yeah, I have to say I completely forgot about Person of Interest - not a good show, that. 

reply

Matthew Fox was not in the OJ Simpson thing, that was Rob Morrow.

reply

I haven't checked yet, but wasn't Roebuck also on My So Called Life as one of the teachers? He's been in so much it's hard to keep track.

I disagree that the leads were unknown. Evangeline Lily was, as this was her first speaking role and I don't think Josh Holloway had done much. Jorge Garcia was unknown too. But personally I knew a fair few of the others from previous work. Maybe you just didn't watch the shows/films they were in but a number of them had been in at least reasonable roles for me to know their name. In the case of Emilie de Ravin, she was the one who got me to watch the show in the first place.

Counting just the first season cast:

Matthew Fox - Party Of Five
Terry O'Quinn - X-Files, West Wing, Alias, JAG, Millenium
Dominic Monaghan - LOTR
Emilie de Ravin - Roswell
Daniel Dae Kim - Angel
Harold Perrineau - Romeo + Juliet (the DiCaprio/Danes version)
Ian Somerhalder - Smallville
John Terry - ER and Hawk The Slayer (not really a lead but a recurring and important role)

There's plenty more if I go into the later seasons.

There's nothing wrong with seeing some NEW actors as long as they have something going for them.

Besides, I have definitely heard of Lizzie Brochere. She first appeared in a lot of sexy French movies (usually butt naked)from the time she was about 17. She has since taken on a second career as an AMERICAN TV actress where she acts in a second language and (usually) keeps her clothes on. I'd say that's pretty impressive. Not many actresses have the talent to cross from sexy fare to more "legitimate" TV roles, and not many French actresses find success in English-speaking roles. She has done both of these things, which is a little more impressive than simply being married to Sting.

Still not sure about what this show is about but after ep4 it got me to thinking about LOST...

...good to see you discussing the cast here.
