Personally by the end of the movie, the only song I remembered was "Into the unknown" . Not that it was a bad movie, the movie in itself was good but the songs all sounded fairly the same, definitely not as good as the first one soundtrack-wise. With that said I do like the Panic at the Disco version of into the unknown.

shareYeah the story is great (I will even say I like this story better than the first one) but if you go in expecting songs as memorable as Let it go or do you want to build a snowman etc.. you will be seriously let down. Even if "Into the unknown" is the best song (Mostly because of the Panic at the Disco cover of it at the end) it still bland compared to the first film. I was talking to my brother after the film and asked him "Do you actually remember any of the songs?" and he couldn't remember any either. None of them have a hook to it , it's like songs from some off Broadway musical, they serve to tell the story but they are not the type of songs you will play a lot without the film context behind it unlike the original songs. Personally I feel this film did not need any songs as it really did not add anything special to the film.

I think a lot of the songs actually work as standalone songs without the context of the movie. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack a lot after watching the movie.
My favorites are All is Found, Lost in the Woods, and Into the Unknown. I also kinda like When I Am Older, even though I didn’t like it much during the movie.
I’ve heard a lot of complaints about the music in this film which is making me to not want to see it.
When I go to see a musical, the music is my priority to know if I loved or didn’t love a movie. It’s what made prefer Bohemian Rhapsody over Rocketman.
Maybe Rocketman Is a better movie as whole but the music of Bohemian Rhapsody is what made me like it much more.
I’m surprised by the success of Frozen 2. Usually when sequels of musicals don’t have good music those films flop examples the return of Mary Poppins and Grease 2.

I’m usually not into animated films unless there is a crazy hype for it like ughhh I have to see it to be in the conversation but if it’s not a highly talked about film I try to skip it.
Frozen has been the most popular hit in Disney's last decade (original, I mean). It wasn't a huge box office, but it became a cult classic for kids. The sequels was going to be a killer.
But the movie was so good because the songs were simply amazing. I think Disney songs weren't that good since the peak of Alan Menken. It seems that it didn't last, though, which is normal, composing killer songs is like getting lighting in a bottle.
Yeees, that was the main success of That movie the music. It was like old days good. Since beauty and the beast we didn’t get such great songs in an animated movie.
If we applaud something to frozen it’s the music.
And you are so right on how difficult is to always write new killer songs, it happens to the biggest music stars that they get once in a while awful albums. Because they can’t always get the best songs.
Last year I was angry that from all the singers I like no one had a good album.
With Ariana Grande I was getting excited with no more tears left to cry and then came her horrible thank you next and her mix up with my favorite things ughhh why?
Taylor swift I loved her album with Blank Space, Style and so many others of that album.

So going back to frozen if it’s hard to get an album fir a singer imagine how hard is to get killer songs for a movie and the songs need to fit the story.
Fully agreed. Into the Unknown feels just as a standard Broadway song. No magic, no soul. The songs in the first Frozen gave me the thrills, like the songs in Beauty and the Beast, or Aladdin's A Whole New World. The songs in Frozen 2 have no magic.
Yeap, I know what you mean about expecting some album from your favorite singers or musicians. I have been expecting another great album from Yann Tiersen for years. Probably it will never happen. And the last album from Zaz was quite a shitty one :-(
A recommendation, though: don't miss the last album of Leonard Cohen, with the last songs he left before dying and that's gonna be released this winter. What Happens to the Heart is a killer song.

I loved Lost in the woods because it reminded me of the 80s power ballads that I grew up with, but the other songs were just okay, not nearly as good as the ones from the original. Still a good movie though, glad I went to see it.
Not really...but I've only seen it once. I agree that PATD version of Into the Unknown could be a hit. I think Show Yourself and The Next Right Thing were really good. It's very much a different film than the first and the music services that direction.
All in... I have a feeling many of these songs will be growers.

The only memorable one since she kept repeating the words over and over INTO THE UNKNOWWWWWNN!! Rest I forgot. Just like Let it go from the first Frozen which was more or less the only memorable one.
