I'm the only one that has hard time buying the premise of this series?

Don't get me wrong, I like this series and I'm gonna continue watching it, but I'm I the only that is starting to get a bit annoyed with the premise is this series? What I mean by that is that this series is basically built around a scenario where two people that aren't colleagues just happens to work on cases that are connected in some way or the other and therefor they end up working on them and solving them together, this happening once is ok, but it happening over and over stretches the possibility of chance/coincidence to a point where things are close to becoming ridiculous to me. This is actually kinda of a pet peeve for me when it comes to TV shows no matter whats the genre: I dislike it when its done in shows that has a supernatural/paranormal premise and where the main characters just happen to stumble upon cases involving monster and other supernatural creatures without actively searching for them, I dislike it when it's done in crime series like New Blood and the list goes on!

It's strange, because I know the premise is extremely contrived, and yet I find it refreshing. I think it's because all other formats have been done to death, e.g. the old one-cop-is-forced-to-take-on-a-partner-he-doesn't-like-then-lo-and-behold-they-eventually-warm-to-one-another-but-still-have-a-love-hate-relationship cliche. In New Blood we get see to distinct investigative styles and motives brought together, and unfortunately as the SFO and police don't seem to have that much to do with each other, the only way to portray any in-depth collaboration is through contrived story-telling

That's what makes you an amalgam. Nailed it.

It is contrived but they got away with it and allowed duel investigations, separate but linked.

It's that man again!!
