Critics have woken up

Cancel the critics!

reply

Because critics are woke and were pressured to support it.

reply

Critics ... Lol what a fucking loser!

If you look at the IMDb rating and RT audience score it tells a somewhat different story:

Ghostbusters (2016)

IMDb - 6.9/10
RT - 49%

Ghostbusters:Afterlife

IMDb - 7.3/10
RT - 95%

I understand the argument that audience ratings may be manipulated one way or another via targeted campaigns, but I don’t think you can say that the critics ratings tell the full story.

Anyway I think it’s safe to say that neither film has any hope of matching the cultural impact or enduring legacy of the original 1984 film.

That says everything about the current state of fake news and zilch about either film. Reviews are bought and paid for, plain and simple. Pay to play. Payola.

One movie was an expensive, ugly dumpster fire that had to rely on a clickbait campaign of hate shielded in victim fetish gear because even a hundred million dollars couldn’t convince anyone but diehard Hillary cultists that it was any good; the other was a heartfelt homage to a classic adventure comedy with a family twist.

I didn’t love the family route but at least it was attempting a new angle and it was much better than a prolapsed 1245am SNL bit.

Exactly correct.

‘Critics’ are woke cultists and a high critics score is a red flag, stay away. Afterlife got attacked by the Guardian for disrespecting the 2016 Trojan Horse of wokeness pretending to be a Ghostbusters film - which reassured me that Afterlife was totally worth seeing.

And it was, I really enjoyed it, and it was only minimally woke.
