An amalgamation of Woody's previous works

Anyone else feel that this movie was pretty much a summary of previous romantic comedies involving an ambitious young man whose life affected deeply by a particular woman?

I did enjoy this film, particularly the set design and cinematography

Definitely... Plus the use of narration, and then take the concluding scene, it being New Years Eve, singing Aud Lang Syn, which is exactly how Radio Days ended, with a tinge of bitter-sweetness.

Yeah, that is pretty close to what I concluded too. I enjoy most Woody Allen movies, they are easy to watch and mostly humorous, but he definitely does recycle old themes and a large number of his movies have a sameness to them. Each year I find it fun to see what Woody has come up with but never have my hopes up really high. He makes good, mediocre, enjoyable movies. Nothing more, nothing less.

Totally agree, and I personally don't have any issue with that - because that's what life's about, full of disappointment and misery and then its over all too soon (i'm paraphrasing btw :))

PS I gave it an extra star for the cinematography and use of Vince Giordano.
