ATime to Rob and Slam

Tonight's new episode was probably the best BFW yet, Landry and Lauren were very good and the guest shots by Brendan Meyer and Larry Joe Campbell as the teacher were excellent. The twist involving Shelby and Brendan's character was a surprise.

And no twins! Very good move there!

I agree great episode. I didn't notice the twin's absence. But glad they weren't around. I also thought B-Movie subplot was funny.

The "actor" looked good for a guy who did the space movie back in 1993!

reply

Yeah, it was pretty funny. Good performances all around, the subplot was pretty good if a bit low key (still considering Barry's already established problems with certain social situations, I can understand him having trouble grasping the idea someone else would have a different opinion to his own).

And yeah, I'll be honest it wasn't a bad twist.

And we have another rule, it appears there are somethings that they literally can't change, no matter how different the situations are the outcome must remain.

Interesting.

I also think Barry is an example of some people on message boards. They think their own opinions should be hailed as facts and that anyone else that disagrees is insane.

For instance, I like DWAB, but lots of threads have many people saying it sucks, no big deal. But every now and then I see someone who insults viewers of the show (or any show).

I guess one of the Aesops was to not criticize others who have different views.

The other one is either some people never change or you can't change everything with time-travel.

Another was discussed briefly when Shelby felt bad for picking on Rob. Which could be don't pick on others.

So that's another reason I like this show. This episode had 3 or 4 lessons without being preachy or acting being dumb is cool.

Also, of all of the shows, books and movies that featured time-travel, I doubt this show will be the most scientifically accurate.

Even The Terminator film series has glaring holes in their time-travel since day 1. But the movies are great so no one cares.

Yeah I agree.

Oh I don't mind that. Just as long as they stick to there own rules (to the post part) for instance there is an episode coming up where they go back to the seventies.

I'm all for it, but they have to explain what exactly happens when they do this. As up to this point, all their time travel is simply mental travel. Their present minds go to there future or past bodies.

Yeah well said and I feel the same way. Not that it bugs me either, but I wish they show past B-plots when Cyd and Shelby time-travel. Instead of what's happening while their gone. Especially since their actions might(will) effect the present.

And I take it that the Barry and Naldo plot happened again after they went back to when Shelby wasn't dating Rob.

It makes me wonder if the others notice that the girls are gone. They definitely still exist and are mentioned. Or are they gone from the present or is it like Bleach whenever Ichigo goes to the spirit world and his body remains. But I won't over think it. The show is funny and I'm sure that over time, it will establish more static parameters of their time-travel.

Thank you, and I should note that my worries have been put to rest. I saw the promo for the episode, and they clearly are going to acknowledge and examine what happens when they go back before there own birth.

Now that would be interesting.

Well from what we've seen so far, its purely mental time travel. So a sense their never actually gone, there minds can just fast forward or rewind to a different part of there lives.

Interestingly this means they could still interact with the B-plots even if they were in a different time (though they probably won't, to avoid confusion).

The show is funny and I'm sure that over time, it will establish more static parameters of their time-travel.

Agreed. And it looks like there going to do just that in the episode after next.

Good point! I guess I'm one of the rare ones because I absolutely love GMW but I also love BFW just as much! There's room in this world/universe for more than one good show :)
