NOW I see a pattern - Disney IS doing some odd programing moves with the show and it makes no sense whatsoever!

But WHY? What do they get out of these block weeks?

Why didn't they just pull the plug on the show than have a couple of months gaps then a block of new episodes for a week, then who knows.

Are they testing out a new programing format, because after the drop in rating the last time, it makes no sense.

If This works this time around, I'd be surprised.

It's called a burn off. That's when they literally do not care about a show anymore. Burn off is when new episodes of a show no longer air at a consistent weekly time slot. It happens a lot and it's a good sign a show is on its way out.

They're doing the same thing with Bizaardvark right now. Moved it from Sunday at 8:30 pm to Friday at 9:40 pm yesterday, then it will skip the next week or 2, and then finally it moves back to Sunday, only at 8:00 pm this time. After that it's not even on the schedule. They're not even running them in episode order right now, causing continuity errors.

Of course Disney Channel is a bit different from other networks since they don't have advertiser revenue. It could just be that the majority of their viewers watch their shows On Demand and that's how they make the majority of their money, so they don't care as much about consistent viewership from people who watch it at air time.

I know what a "burn off" is.

However, "Bizaardvark" seems like testing new time-slot, even if it doesn't make sense.

I'm sure Disney is waiting until the last minute to tell the cast their fate. They've done the same thing with other shows.

13 episodes is a short order for any Disney Show - Especially a live-action one which they have been unconventionally programming.

I don't understand, they seem to be getting Season 2 over and done with. Season 1 had 19 episodes, and took 11 months to get through. And wouldn't Revenge of the Past (1 hour) premiere sometime early next year, since December is for Falalalidays episodes (Christmas or New Years themed), which wrap up episodes of a show for the year?

reply

Come to think of it, how often have there been Non-Christmas/New Years Episodes that premiere on Disney Channel in the US in December? From what I do know of, December is when Austin & Ally premiered in the US, with about 4 episodes of the 1st Season episodes premiering in the US that month.

reply

BFW Season 2 is not the only fairly minute Season that premiered this year, L&M Season 4 is said to have only 15 episodes (fewer than any Disney Channel Series to date). They're not willing to get that Season over and done with, 6 episodes will have premiered by the End of 2016, and they hadn't gotten through 5 episodes in 1 week at any point.
