The Dog

What happened to the dog he had in the prior movie, "Benefit of the Doubt"? I just rewatched that movie and the dog is still with him at the end, but is gone by this movie and another dog takes its place. Was there an explanation about "Reggie" (that was either the name of the dog in the movie or the dog actor who played him"). Perhaps the actor dog died but I don't think there was any explanation about what happened to the dog that Jesse rescued.

Rewatch the movie. Reggie is buried on Jesse's property & has a tombstone.

The real dog died between the 2012 & the 2015 movies.

Thanks, I rewatched Benefit of the Doubt thinking I'd forgotten something in that movie that explained why he was missing in this one.....I should have just "rewound" (to use a very obsolete word) this one.

If you're looking for it, you can see gray on Reggie's (Joe's) muzzle in Benefit of the Doubt. My first thought was, "Poor puppy, he's getting old. I hope Jesse doesn't have to put him down, too."

So it would make sense that after 3 years there would be another dog.

Something that just occurred to me - are you sure the tombstone isn't for Boomer?

Could be, if Boomer's name was Reggie...

it definitely says Reggie on the tombstone, and also, Jesse gives a speech in front of the grave about how long it took to form a bond and make a commitment. He'd had Boomer since he was a puppy and there was already a bond when we first saw him.

Before the shot w the tombstone, he tells his shrink he's lost his conscience. When we see the tombstone, it says "Reggie My Conscience."

That was a nice touch.

If you watch the credits, the dog is a different dog too. They look so much alike and are so similar in temperament, you'd think it was the same dog.

Watta ya lookn here for?
