Wow. Just wow.

This film managed to be worse than it's predecessor.

How, you may ask when the first film had crappy effects, cheesy dialogue, no plot and laugh-free?
By adding lots and lots of dead little girls, of course!

There's no attempt at historical accuracy and the actings are below average.
Oh Dal-su is a kind of actor who Koreans instantly laugh by him just standing in the scene. But even he can't really save this crap.

A lame "action moment" happens when the hero uses a grenade to create diversion and get away while actually not harming anyone.
Then it happens again. And then it happens again! And holy cow, it happens again!!

The twists aren't really predictable but that's because the film cheats and slavishly ticks all the cliches of this genre.

I guess the first film was harmless (despite being really bad) with some dumb laughs here and there but this one manages to be offensive too.
Warning for real bad after-taste since this is the first comedy I've seen where many many young girls end up severly poisoned if not dead already.

Thumbs way down.

You do realize this film was quite a hit in Korea and has some alright-ish rating from the audience?
There are also many elements that could make someone watch a film despite hating the previous installment (friends, kids, etc)
You don't go out much from your shed, do you?

So instead of insulting me for hating the film why don't you try to discuss the points that I mentioned?

What does it matter if it was a hit in Korea? I watched the first 15 minutes of Transformers and decided I didn't like it. I didn't attempt to watch any of it's sequels (all od which were huge hits). Why would I? Only an idiot would do that. My kids and Grandkids were able to watch them without me. So the question remains, if you thought the first film was so bad, why would you watch it's sequel?

I haven't seen the sequel yet, myself, so I have no opinion on it. I enjoyed the first film for what it was.

Okay I apologise that my point was not very clear.
I am a korean and watched this film along with my friends when it opened as it was playing in almost every cinema there was.
Not really my decision to watch it but I did anyways as my friends wanted to.
I thought I hinted at it enough but I guess it flew over your head.

Why I watched the film and the quality of its series is two very different, irrelevant things.
Yeah it is my opinion and I stated why it was a bad film. Take away my opinion of the first film from the OP, there is no difference.
You are grasping at straws here to diss my opinion. Watch this first and then discuss it.
Your liking of the first film can be discussed in the first Detective K discussion board.

I am sure a lot of people didnt like Transformers sequels and yet sequel after sequel it makes money.
Critics hate Transformers yet they watch it sequel after sequel.
Yet I am happy to report that i, just like yourself, managed to avoid all its sequels after watching the first one.
Strange. None of my friends seemed to be that interested in that gigantic turd of franchise.

Critics are paid to watch the films. They don't get to pick and choose.

Sorry to hear your friends put a gun to your head and made you go see a movie that you hated. Maybe you should get new friends.

Sorry that my personal life concerned you so much that you spent time making posts on an IMDb board of a movie you haven't even watched.

And if you knew more about the Korean cinema system, then you will understand why the audience have less choices than in other countries.
But that is another story for another time.
