Dumb...just dumb. Plot holes galore Spoilers

This movie was a huge waste of time. Here are my complaints:

*Maggie doesn't tell the parents anything about Anna? Blonde, Height anything so they would know who she was?
*Parents go out to dinner knowing they have a replacement sitter and drink too much so they can't drive home? Give me a break...
*Way to secure that gun Dad. Good God!
*When power goes out in a house, the landline still works. Why didn't Jacob call his Mother from the house phone?
*When Jacob gets out of the house, why doesn't he run to a neighbors house to have them call the police THEN go back to the house with someone?
*Howie's Mother is so irresponsible that when her neighbors son says something's wrong with the babysitter, she does nothing but hang up the phone.

Ok I can go on and on but this was just a dumb movie and I am a HUGE fan of the horror/suspense genre. The writing was awful, the acting was so-so but the takeaway from this movie is....don't Fu...errr Mess with an 11 year old boy.

Agree completely. Terrible flick that wasn't suspenseful or scary.

Along with your points, why would the father keep a sex tape of an affair in a lock box in his closet? Is he looking for it to be found? Why did Emelie's husband/lover cause a major accident instead of just a fender bender? Additionally, why didn't he wear his seat belt? Seems pretty clear that he didn't as he was ejected from his car.

I thought the children's acting was pretty good, but other than that just a bad film.

Christopher: It's Mommy.
Sally: That's not Mommy.

It was a deliberate decision to have 9 year old Sally correct her 4 year old brother in order to establish who was more likely to be accurate.

When sally said, "that's not Mommy" she wasn't looking at screen yet. I took her to say "that's not Mommy" meaning Mommy wouldn't be in a movie that ain't her... Then when she looked her face looked mortified.

I just took a look at that scene to focus on her eyes instead of just her voice. I stand corrected. Now I think it was mommy. Thanks.
