Sarandon and Simmons - What a Pair!

I want to see more of these two together. It's about passion and intensity, wit and wisdom and a seemingly shared reverence for the ridiculous. LOL Just loved those two on screen. Sizzle and sweet. Audacious in their vulnerability.

(Aw... "Love ya.")

"Thinking" involves a lot more work than simply "having a thought"!

J.K. Simmons is right up there with Sam Elliott in the "Mature Sexy Guy" category.
But what really did it for me were the chickens. A guy who raises chickens (for eggs only)? And names each one? And plays music for them? 

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

Yeah, they both portray nurturing very well. Listeners whom pay attention. Respectful. Both actors do a great job of showing their need to give and to receive love. Hot men, indeed! :)

I'd add: Andy Garcia, Kurt Russell, Jeff Bridges and Jeff Daniels to that list. :) In a few years, Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler and Mark Ruffalo.

That was a surprising twist. LOL Did he mention how they react to the Harley?

Yes, I too enjoyed them together. But when Sarandon was a senior in high school Simmons would have been in the 3rd grade. Does that make her a 'cougar'??

No, it means that Sarandon looks young for her age or Simmonds older than his age.
When I saw the movie I didn't notice there was an age difference of 9 years between them. I had to look it up on IMDB.

What if this is as good as it gets?

Lol I knew JK and Susan have a real life age difference. I do think she looked a little older than him but was still very believable as his love interest. Maybe she can count as a cougar lol

He will always be the guy on OZ to me, lol

Yes - the chemistry of those 2 actors together creating the tension/anticipation of their relationship evolving in this movie is one redeeming factor for an otherwide rather pointless, disjointed, missing-scenes & pig-trails kinda movie . . .

The other main redeeming factor is obviously kinda 2-fold within the character of Marnie - She learns to stop smothering her daughter & finally learns very simple acts can be WAY more meaningful, extremely inexpensive, and without any word of gratitude or praise needed to fulfill her desire to be needed - ie; the hospital scene where Marnie helps the elder lady finally contact/get her son there.

I agree with the comment of Simmons being similar to Sam older gentleman silver-haired Fox status and also never noticed before this movie how much their voices are similar!

loved the chemistry between those 2

Great acting. Best part in an otherwise muddled movie.
