Why don't they use the books?

First movie, more or less a sleeper hit, and it followed the first book. It left lots and lots of great stuff out but they didn't want an R rating. I can sorta forgive that. Second movie, way off the second book, and huge crash and burn sucked big time. Third movie, still not following the amazing third book? Wtf? Why? Ego directors and writers trying to show they are special. You know who followed the books and won oscars, Peter Jackson. Best skip going to see this. Read the book instead.

It was more than a sleeper hit I think? Big budget movie based on teen books like Divergant and Twighlight Saga featuirng and other ones ? it made 348 million on a passable and very respectible 34 mill budget so thats over 300 mil plus not the greatest cast circa that teen wolf kid who kept breaking the set right>?

Ego maybe. Also marketing data on target audience, young teens who haven't read the books. The big market is young 12 year old girls are the ones who spend or control the spend. The teen boyfriend going along just to make his date happy or mom and dad going because their girl wants to.
