I am quite surprised that the TV episode foes not mentiom anything about "An American Family". It was a groundbreaking reality show about a family from Santa Barbara, CA, aired in several segments in 1973. This show was produced by PBS and was the very first reality family show. You can even buy DVDs about it, and it is the subject of a 2011 HBO film, "Cinema Verite", which featured Tim Robbins, Diane Lane, James Gandolfini and Patrick Fugit.

probably because there was a degree of intelligence in it.
Not a thing about the cerebral band Pink Floyd in the 70's episodes.
If it isn't about Lady Gaga or the Kardashians or Celebrity Apprentice
CNN doesn't see it
