Thought it was Really Well Done

Seems like an unpopular opinion on here but I thought the show was really well done. Yes, I know it wasn't historically accurate but "Boardwalk Empire" wasn't either so comparisons to the other really can't be done especially since "Boardwalk" only covered a small portion of Charlie, Meyer, Benny, and Al's lives and majority was from Nucky's pov. I thought this was well casted. Rich, Ian, Jonathan, Anthony, and Craig really impressed me. I hadn't seen any of them till the show and they did really well. As the show went on each one felt right in the roles. I grew up in an Irish/Italian family who loved gangster movies & shows, so I knew about most of these real characters through those and hearing stories about them and then finally seeing "Bugsy" as a teenager and eventually "Boardwalk Empire" and "Mob City" and became a fan of the genre myself. I always wished "Boardwalk" casted Frank Costello so I was happy to see him and Vito in this. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the Chicago set season 2.

I too thought it was really well done, I loved the look of the whole show.
I didn't know hardly anything about the subject this series covers and so it didn't matter to me if it was historically accurate or not because it made me want to learn more about these people so I could find out the facts for myself.
Also it did not bother me if the actors looked like the real life gangsters or not because I thought they all did a great job on the show.
In my eyes an actor does not have to look like the real person he/she is portraying as long as they do a great job (Frank Langella in Frost/Nixon is an example that comes to mind).
