10-10 hands down this years Best horror movie

Well glad someone had a blast watching it, different horror strokes for different horror lovin folks and whatnot. It could have used about a 15 minute edit/cut out of it, but was still a watchable fun flick, but an average one. I'll meet you halfway and give a 5/10.

It had some cool scenes, but there was parts/scenes that made me check the runtime, like two or three and that's not a good thing to occur in a film. If some skillful editing was put to use and ground it down to 70-77 minutes instead of 90 it would have possible gotten at least a 6, maybe 7, but not as it stands imo.

So far this year, films released and or made available to me, the public or the internet in the last six months, basically this year though many may say 2015(even 2014), the best of the year for me were:

The Blackcoat's Daughter (2015) 8/10
Kill Command(2016) 8/10
He Never Died (2015) 8/10
Among the Living (2014) 8/10
Krampus (2015) 8/10
Before I Wake (2016) 7/10
Tale of Tales (2015)(7)
Baskin (2015) 7/10
The Veil(2016) 7/10
Hush (2016) 7/10
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) 7/10
Ava's Possessions (2015)7/10
Intruders(2015) 7/10
Goddess of Love (2015) 7/10
Where the Devil Dwells (2014) 7/10
Bunny the Killer Thing (2015) 7/10
Keeper of Darkness (2015) 6/10
13 Cameras (2015) 6/10
Holidays (2016) 6/10
The Boy (2016) 6/10
They're Watching (2016) 6/10
Freaks of Nature (2015) 6/10
Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014) 6/10
Bite (2015) 6/10
The Dead Room (2015) 6/10
The Gateway(2015) 6/10
Decay(2015) 6/10
Bloody Knuckles(2014)6/10
You Are Not Alone(2014) 6/10
Sweet Home(2015)6/10
Anguish(2015) 6/10

31 flicks above and have about 30 films that all got a 5/10, in all not the greatest first 6 months worth of horror, it's actually kind of depressing to see the best of the best being so f'king average for the most part(you don't wanna know how many under 5/10 films I rated and actually I wouldn't want to count em all, such a waste of time. I totally fell asleep watching The Conjuring 2 last night, no surprise there I guess, I didn't love the first one as much as everyone else seemed to. It was late though and I was horizontal, probably give it a go this morning, atmosphere is way better at night though imo, but so is sleep.

No one cares about your ratings, you birdbrain.

reply

Couldn't possibly be less than your comment. Oh but damn your message board if chock full of WWE comments, the irony in this is so f'ing off the charts that it's immeasurable by human limits. And I'm the birdbrain, thanks for the laugh. dummy.

Hey does your momma still got, uh, worms crawling outta her pu$$y?

reply

That was a really bad attempt at an insult.

reply

Seconded.

reply

The only thing more embarrassing is looking at someone's comments history.

I appreciated the list with ratings from Thrill_KillZ, and watched Before I Wake on my phone after seeing he(?) gave it 7/10. I plan on watching a few more movies from the list as time permits.

reply

I appreciate ratings, too... I can check out some new movies I haven't seen/heard of before

I don't see The Witch on your list, which in my opinion is by far the best horror film, and all around film of 2016.

I'm glad dissolvedboy2008 loved this movie so much. That enthusiasm reminds me of the first time I saw House on Haunted Hill (1999) in the theater way back in the day...
I really wanted to love Funhouse Massacre like that cause I love Jere Burns and have waited forever for this movie to come to dvd. The premise is great, it just could have been done much better.

A good example of a fun horror movie would be The Final Girls or Krampus that Thrill-_KillZ mentioned.
But I didn't hate The Funhouse Massacre, and I'm sure I'll re-watch it from time to time.

reply

Final girls??? Boring with Zero gore! Damn. Krampus pg 13 also. Funhouse by faaaaar better

reply

Well I guess as I get older I'm becoming more of a PG-13 type person, because the amount of gore in Funhouse Massacre was really hard to stomach.

reply

Krampus was probably the best, most fun and badass PG-13 horror flick I've ever seen(though I have a short memory). I waited forever to see it at home and had questionable expectations formed over that time and for once it delivered in spades, but hey opinions and whatnot, it wouldn't be cool if we all had identical tastes in things, a step away from being robots.

If it's recorded it's subjective.

reply

Krampus needed that R rating!

reply

exactly viciousness. this is an above average horror film. very dark, realistic, and disturbing with it's realistic violence and characters and situations which are the reasons why it's an above average horror film. quite powerful and entertaining.
