Gee, I wonder who the villain is in this?

The trailer really wants me to hate Lindsey Duncan.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

I'd say Lindsay Duncan seems to be the real villian...but McKenna Grace seems to develop a kinda Stockholm Syndrome/Munchausen by Proxy and want to stay with her after she can't see Chris Evans.

I dont think there was a villain in this movie really

Yeah there is. Evelyn was manipulative, conniving, and in the end very dishonest even with her own son. And it was all for her own ambitions of forcing the child to be a what she herself needed the child to be, just as she pushed her own daughter to suicide for the same reason, and ultimately why the daughter wished that her solution be held back until after her mother's death.

It's really quite despicable. It's all so telling that, rather than make amends and be the loving grandparent to Mary, she accepted Frank's proposal to instead go afar and champion her daughter's solution, which would be her life's work from that point on.

You can't say that she didn't love Mary, but she was pushing her for her own ambitions, not for the best interest of Mary. Frank knew this all along, except for the short period where she duped him, before he woke up / realized and took Mary back.

You tend to believe that at first, but in the end there really is no villain. Good movie, 7.8/10.
