Heartbeat doesn't even get up a poor when compared to Grey's Anatomy. And the ratings are terrible - it's the lowest at that time. A plot about a promiscuous heart surgeon isn't something people can stick with - how could you put your life in the hands of someone who can't be trusted? (Not that you'd know in real life, but here we're watching it every week.) Melissa's a great actor but it doesn't help that her character is not likeable at all.

This was based on a real surgeon and the other characters were based on people this real like doctor knows
The writing of this show literally sucks. She got drunk, got married to one of her lovers, went to the bathroom, came out and ran into the other lover, forgot that she had just gotten married and married that one too, then lost him going to the bathroom again and then wound up in the emergency room, where both of her new husbands came in and found her. Then they leave it as a guessing game for the season ending cliff hanger - (The solution that would have been the fall opener - the time on the marriage license will reveal which is one the lucky guy and which one is legally married to her !) The ratings sucked. It's gone. The only good shows on NBC are Chicago Med, Fire and PD.

Agree 100% but that is what always seems to happen. Makes one wary of watching any new series. They pull all the good ones and leave the dribble. Can't have a fun little show with just plain likable characters anymore.
