Totally Absurd

It was like they were making the plot up as they went along. Nonsensical. The attempt at humour was more miss than hit. The show will be forgotten very quickly. Not watching any more. One's enough thank you very much.

It's hard to sum up where it went wrong. The script wasn't funny, the actors aren't funny, the characters aren't likable, the delivery was completely wrong, the plot made no sense.

Maybe if they add a laugh track people will get a hint at what is expected to be funny :/

Just like the last guy. Perhaps the humor was simply over your head? Thank God there aren't that many people like you, who don't know good humor when they see it.

No, not having a laugh track is one of the great things about it!

Definitely a matter of taste, because I find the scripts funny, the actors funny, the characters likeable, and the delivery made sense because it's a satire.

The rapid-fire interplay between Novak and Walsh (and in later episodes, Pierson) is so quick and good, I absolutely love it.

I bought the dvd (thank you, multi-region dvd players), have watched it twice, and am going to watch it again this week because it makes me laugh and I really enjoy it.

reply

I liked it because it was different. Kayvan Novak is funny with his different impressions.

This is total, unadulterated rubbish. It seems to have been written solely with the intention of giving a bit part actor the chance to dress up in silly costumes and speak in equally silly accents. Bradley Walsh should have stuck to his third rate game shows, and the other chap should just stand in front of a mirror, dressed how he likes and speaking in any accent that takes his fancy, and say out loud ‘You are simply annoying’ several thousand times.

This is not ‘zany’ and ‘unpredictable’ comedy it’s garbage and for someone to liken it to that colossus of comedy ‘Fawlty Towers’, makes you wonder what evil scientist had been experimenting on their brain.

Comedy at some level has to make sense, Fawlty Towers did make sense, the storylines were pretty straightforward, it was the way poor Basil manage to completely screw up the simplest of tasks that produced the humour.

This should be pulled immediately. I remember talking to Don Henderson once about his very long and distinguished acting career. I asked him about something that had always puzzled me, and that was why he agreed to take part in possibly the worst horror film of all time ‘The Ghoul’. His eyes rolled, and he said then when he made enough money he was going to buy up every copy of it and burn them. I understand what he meant now. (he also told me he was paid a flat rate of £350 for his part in Star Wars).

This is so awful they have even pinched the setting and idea from a much earlier series, El Cid, from 1990.
