NBC Reduces Order From 13 to 9!

I saw on the Hollywood Reporter site that the show will hit the end of its run next month. Not the greatest show on the air, but fun while it lasted.

(And I developed a crush on Ms. Wakefield!)

No surprise there

reply

Not surprised but I am disappointed. Have really been enjoying the show.

Who says violence is not the answer?

reply

Yeah normally I don't start new shows until they get confirmed if they are getting full or extended run to avoid getting disappointed when they canx. ( won't mention Fox n Firefly as a perfect example )

But as I loved Strike Back I hoped this would do well with Blindspot or they would both fail and Strike Back movie or new series would be back on.

I mean The Player is just as crap or good as Blindspot & it's got a full season now.

Ah well just need to watch Strikeback repeats ?

I absolutely hate Blindspot. It's unintentionally ridiculous. Strange woman with tattoos gets added to FBI field team because she nags and whines? Really? They should rename Blindspot to When good actors get cast in ridiculous shows.

The Player is just plain good fun.

I hate seeing these two guys in such turkeys. I hope they get something good on cable.

I enjoyed "The Player" because it was an interesting and new plot idea. Unfortunately, it became redundant pretty quickly. However, putting it in the same category as "Blindspot" is an insult to "The Player." "Blindspot" had such an intriguing plot with infinite possibilities, but the acting was some of the worst I have ever seen. I kept hoping that the actors would warm up to their roles and get into the swing, but with each week, they became worse and worse. Sullivan Stapleton is like an unshaven, dead person who is phoning in his "performance." I did not see "Strike Back" and I can imagine that he would be perfect for that part. Jamie Alexander is stunning and began well as the confused, mind-ereased, victim but now seems to be a one-trick-pony. The absolute worst is Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Bethany Mayfair. I have seen her is so many British programs and perhaps it boils down to her pathetic attempt at an American accent that drives me crazy. She has become, for me, unbearable to watch and hear. Ashley Johnson is the only one doing an adequate job of acting. I have given up watching the show. It could have been the show of the year rather than the bomb of the year. I will take "The Player" any time over "Blindspot." both had spectacular potential but really dropped the ball. For great fun and super productions, check out "The Night Manager" and, especially, "London Spy."

I am disappointed that this was cancelled because it was a fun action show that didn't seem to take a dark turn like so many others. It was up against a tough time slot.

I also started watching this show and Blindspot because of the Strike Back boys. I hope that somebody realizes Philip Winchester has a following from Strike Back and gives him a shot on another project so I can see him on my tv again!

reply

As I stated elsewhere it should have been a summer show to test the waters. I hope it's picked up by an online service like Netflix.

reply

ahh...that sucks.

I hope Philip Winchester gets back on my tv quickly.

Looks like its dead, dead, dead.

I'm okay with it. Nice while its lasted.

reply

Little disappointed but not unexpected.

Grands...Glad to see you come and glad to see you go

If ratings go up for the next few episodes, will they order more?

The cancellation is not official but the actors on twitter seems to think it is.

Philip, honey, we all saw it coming. They must really have kept him in the dark about the ratings.

He must have been looking HARD in one direction not to see it coming.

reply

They better ******** wrap this up, I swear to god if I meet the people canceling these shows I will knock 7 shades of **** into them.

reply

Or he was being sarcastic, which is more likely IMO.

I love my Strike Back Boys though so I really hope Philip is back on my tv soon.

reply

I think she's trying to leave on an optimistic note.

I passed on this one.

I read somewhere (THR?) that dramas cost upwards of $1Million to produce per ep. That's a lot of money.
