How would you improve The Player?

I like having Wesley Snipes and Philip Winchester on my TV, so I am hoping that the show would turn around in the ratings. I was thinking that maybe if it were darker or grittier, the show would improve and more people would watch, but I don't know.

What would you suggest to the producers to improve the show? What would it take to get you to keep watching? What do you think will bring other viewers?

reply

A different night than Shondaland night to begin with!

reply

What night would you suggest?

I also think that maybe it could come at night. The show is pretty PG13, so no reason for it to have the 10PM slot.

reply

There's too much TV....too many good shows up against each other. I have to watch online those shows I can't see.

reply

I suggest they resolve the dead vs. missing wife plot ASAP and just stop it with those embarrassingly stupid "couple" videos that Kane is always watching. Then they need to come up with a reason for Kane to go all in with his player role and become the badass player that we know he could be.

reply

Do you think that she is dead or alive? how would you resolve the storyline?

reply

Sorry it took me so long to get back.

Well, now it looks like the wife is alive, and I got the feeling during the last episode that she might actually be the one who recruited Kane and Cassandra. I actually think that twist would be very interesting. Maybe she is the House!

reply

Oh!! That would be amazing!! Like your theory!

most of these network shows have continued to refuse to go down that cinematic aesthetic route shows like GOT, WD, Homeland,Rectify have embraced for a good while now, to their own detriment. Most network shows are too glossy, clean, overly fast paced, much too light on depth and character(more like caricature) development. The Player has all those problems in droves.

"what is your major malfunction numbnuts?!!"

reply

Blindspot does not seem to have those problems. NBC seems willing to get grittier with Blindspot than with the Player.

This will not help anyone but me... but just give him one car. This thing with him having a new car every week is a silly ( to me). And just feels wrong to me. He has chases all the time , most likely he would want to get to know his car and what it can do . And not just show off new wheels each week. Something like a Charger Hellcat would do the trick since it is a super fast and has for doors in case he has to ride with a lot more people.

When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.

reply

LOL! As of last night's episode it's no longer just you. Where in the hell is he getting all those cars. Does he not own one and he just rents by the week? Still love the action or maybe just the actor.

reply

Probably would have worked better on a cable network like TNT or USA.

"The Deals" - They're a bit 'blink and you'll miss them'. I'd like them to be more integrated into the story. Also, i'd actually like to see behind the curtain; show us these rich people literally getting off on the action and what is happening in their lives.

reply

They started doing more of this, but it was too little too late

reply

Lose the side story and back story and just have the show be about addrenalin junkies and exploring the dark side of human nature.

reply

This dreck is beyond saving. The only way to improve it is to cancel it.

reply

Looks like they've been reading our comments. Last Thursday's episodes was much improved.
